Team George house build

J Wilson Plumbing and Heating helped to provide a local family with a fully accessible home following an accident where their son, George, suffered sever damage to his spinal cord.

George Robinson was paralysed from the shoulders down after suffering a transection of his spinal cord during a rugby match in South Africa. Tradesman from the surrounding area joined together with Hereward Homes to build a house that would allow the family to resume normal life.

Since his accident George has made fantastic progress and has adapted amazingly to his injuries. However, it was made evident very early that his existing family home was no longer suitable. The family began to work with Hereward Homes to design accommodation that would meet George’s medical needs and also provide a happy environment for the family to enjoy time together.

The J Wilson team worked with an army of local businesses to create the new home which included accessible wet rooms and specialist flooring. The Robinsons are now enjoying a beautiful family home and George is empowered to lead an independent and successful future.

Since moving in George performed amazingly in his A levels and secured a place at Birmingham University.
